After gathering all the spatial information from public domains, as well as field data from mapping, it is now time to do some rock and soil sampling. Soil sampling is usually done in regular grids and rock sampling is done on the outcrops. Samples are sent to a cerified laboratory with QA/QC protocol for geochemical analysis. Whenever a geochemical anomaly is detected (with respect to base values) grid spacing is reduced and additional sampling is carried out.
